Privacy Policy

Effective July 2, 2026 · Wren and Stone LLC

Pale Jack (the “Game,” at palejack.com) is made by Wren and Stone LLC (“we,” “us”), a California, USA company. This policy describes what we collect when you play, why, and the choices you have. The short version: the Game is designed to work offline and account-free; signing in is optional infrastructure for saving and a daily leaderboard; we collect no more than that requires, we show no ads, and we do not sell personal information.

Playing without an account

The Game runs entirely on your device. Your saves, settings, and progress are stored locally (in your browser’s storage on the web, or on your device in native builds). Played this way, we receive no personal information from you — only the anonymous gameplay analytics described below, if you leave that setting on.

If you sign in

Signing in with Google (via Google Firebase Authentication) lets your save sync across devices and lets your daily results join the day’s leaderboard. When you sign in we receive and store:

During the closed beta, sign-in is required to access the Game on the web, and your acceptance of the beta terms is recorded with your account.

Gameplay analytics

We collect anonymous gameplay events (for example: a run started, a room was failed, a setting was changed) through Google Analytics for Firebase, to tune difficulty and fix what isn’t working. These events contain no names, emails, or message content. Analytics can be turned off at any time in the Game’s settings (“Transmit anonymous data”), and the Game honors that choice immediately. Like most websites, the web version uses cookies and local storage for these analytics and for the Game’s own state.

Who processes data for us

These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. Data is processed in the United States.

What we don’t do

Retention and deletion

Local data stays on your device until you clear it. Account data (email, identifier, save, leaderboard entries) is kept while your account is active. To delete your account data — including removing your leaderboard entries — email us at [email protected] from the address you signed in with, and we will delete it within 30 days.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it, using the email above. If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you these rights by statute; we honor them for everyone, and we will not treat you differently for exercising them.

Age

The Game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The closed beta additionally requires participants to be 18 or older under its terms.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and its effective date, and — where the change affects signed-in players — ask you to re-accept the beta terms that reference it.
